Backup and Recovery
RapidFort Platform
The RapidFort platform is deployed on AWS EKS via the RapidFort Helm chart. Customers can back up the Helm Chart, or more specifically, the customer-populated secrets.yaml. They can choose any repository but must ensure secrets are not exposed. If there is an issue with the platform, it can be reinstalled via Helm. Upon Helm reinstallation, it will reconnect to the RapidFort RDS database and the RapidFort dedicated AWS S3 bucket.
RapidFort S3 Bucket
RapidFort stores image instrumentation and image hardening files in a dedicated AWS S3 Bucket. Back-up and recovery, therefore, relies on the underlying AWS S3 service. Similar to AWS, RapidFort adopts a shared responsibility model and the Customer is responsible for the configuration of their S3 backup policies.

RapidFort Database
RapidFort utilizes AWS RDS (MySQL Engine) for its database and relies on the underlying AWS RDS service for automated backups and point-in-time restores. Similar to AWS, RapidFort adopts a shared responsibility model, and the Customer is responsible for the configuration of their RDS backup policies.
